Update your email address

Change the email you sign in with. Verification required, takes one click on each side.

1 min read

Your email is your sign-in identity. Changing it is intentionally a two-step verification flow — both addresses confirm before the swap takes effect.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Profile (https://ritsu.ai/settings/profile).
  2. Next to Email, click Change.
  3. Enter the new email. Click Send verification.
  4. We send two emails:
    • To the new address: a confirmation link to prove you own it
    • To the old address: a heads-up plus a "this wasn't me" link in case the change is unauthorised
  5. Open the new-address email and click the link. The swap takes effect immediately.
  6. You stay logged in on the device you initiated the change from. Other devices may need to re-authenticate.

What changes when email changes

  • Sign-in: only the new address works going forward
  • Receipts and billing emails go to the new address
  • Outbound notifications (digests, security alerts) go to the new address
  • The old address is kept on file for 30 days as a fallback for "this wasn't me" recovery, then deleted

What does NOT change

  • Your account ID, your data, your subscription
  • Saved decks, quiz history, learning progress
  • API tokens (if you have any)

OAuth accounts

If you signed up with Google / Apple / Microsoft, your email is managed by that provider. Changing it inside Ritsu disconnects the OAuth link — you'll be prompted to set a Ritsu password before the swap finishes.

Trouble

  • Verification email not arriving — check spam, and verify the new address is correct.
  • "Email already in use" — that address is on a different Ritsu account. You can't have two accounts on the same email.
  • Old email already gone — contact support@ritsu.ai with proof of identity (last billing receipt, account ID).
