Change your password
Change your password from Settings. Forgot it? Reset via email.
1 min read
Two paths: change it from inside the app (you remember the current one) or reset it from the login screen (you don't).
Change it from Settings
- Go to Settings → Security (or hit the direct URL:
https://ritsu.ai/settings/security). - Click Change password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter the new password twice. Minimum 12 characters; we recommend a passphrase.
- Click Save. You stay logged in on this device.
Reset it (forgot the current one)
- On the login screen, click Forgot password?
- Enter your email. We send a reset link within 30 seconds — check spam if it doesn't arrive.
- Open the link. You have 30 minutes before it expires.
- Set a new password, confirm, click Save.
- You're logged in automatically on the device that opened the link.
What we require
- Minimum 12 characters
- Not in the most-common-100k-passwords list
- Not the same as your last 3 passwords
We do not require a special character or a digit. Length beats complexity.
What happens to other sessions
Changing your password from Settings does not sign out other devices by default. If you suspect compromise, also click Sign out everywhere at the bottom of the Security page.
A password reset (forgotten flow) does sign out everywhere. The new password is required to sign back in on each device.
Tips
- Use a password manager. Seriously.
- If you signed up via Google or another OAuth provider, you don't have a Ritsu password — manage it via that provider instead.
- 2FA adds a second factor on top. See Set up two-factor authentication.
Trouble?
If reset emails don't arrive, see Can't log in.
